The IQAC continuously works on all the quality evolving facets of the University. Two practices institutionalized as a result of IQAC initiatives are: (i) Annual Academic Audit and (ii) Stakeholders Feedback Survey for the accountability of the Institution. The recommendations of the Academic Audit Committees are compiled and analysed by the IQAC to identify the deficit areas where the teaching, learning and evaluation can be improved by creating quality consciousness in the minds of faculty members. Feedback system from all the Stakeholders has also been an appropriate mechanism to evaluate teaching and learning process and also Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning for the benefit of various sections of society. IQAC is also looking establishment of Department of Alumni Relations to strengthen the constructive participation of the Alumni in the Holistic Growth and Development of the University. The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) and Quality Sustenance (QS) activities of the university with the following composition.As per the requirement, Internal Quality Assurance Committee (IQAC) of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam was formed with the following composition: The IQAC has been constituted as per the recommendations of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The IQAC ensures the effective implementation of quality initiatives through continuous reviews and periodic meetings. The IQAC works towards attaining excellence in all academic and administrative endeavours of the institution.

IQAC- THE PROCEDURE AND PRACTICE

Objectives

The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution. The functions IQAC are preparation of reports, All Stakeholders feedback, maintenance of data bases, dissemination of information on quality etc. Specifically the IQAC has computerized most of the routine work and created appropriated data bases, IQAC has been assisting in the preparation of news letter, students hand book, activity diaries, annual reports of the University and conduct of workshops for college teachers on new curriculum. Since its establishment the Internal Quality Assurance Cell initiated several measures to promote quality enhancement among the stakeholders of the institution through various seminars, workshops and meetings conducted. The IQAC also developed several mechanisms to record and monitor the most suitable practices adopted by the constituent colleges of the university. To promote measures of quality enhancement for the effective functioning of the University by creating quality consciousness among stakeholders and promoting best practices. To set quality performance indicators in domains of education, research and administration pertaining to Departments and other units of the University. To develop benchmarks for quality performance indicators and strategies to evaluate quality performance indicators. To evolve and implement self evaluation proforma for faculty members and executives periodic academic and administrative audit and also to develop strategies to improve quality.

Motivation Strategies of IQAC

  1. To improve quality of teaching, research, extension and administrative activities
  2. To play the active role in the preparation of performance indicators of faculty.
  3. Designing and maintaining central data of various administrative wings.
  4. To act as nodal centre for statistical information.
  5. Organizing periodical meetings for faculty and students on quality parameters.
  6. Improving the quality of preparation of AQAR Reports
  7. Continuing the unique online submission of Feedback of students on teachers
  8. To motivate the Faculty members, HODs, BOS, Deans, Principals, Directors, Co-ordinators regularly to augment teaching quality
  9. To stimulate research environment for promotion of quality publications with high impact factor and ‘H’ Index.
  10. To collaborate all stakeholders of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam
  11. To arrange periodic assessment through various feedbacks from stakeholders
  12. To promote the activities of various wings of academic and Administration
  13. To maintain cordial relationship with society through mega extension programs

  15. Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks

  17. Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure
  18. Implementing Learning Outcome-based Curriculum Framework for all the courses

Functions of IQAC

  1. Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
  2. The IQAC is involved in framing policies for the promoting of Teaching-Learning, Research, Curriculum planning and implementation, Student activities, innovation and all the extracurricular and co-curricular activities;
  3. Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
  4. Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
  5. The IQAC functions in collaboration with Executive Council, examination department, Registrar office, the library, placement cell and career guidance and counselling cell for an integrated approach towards quality assurance for the improvement of the institution.
  6. Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education;
  7. Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
  8. Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
  9. Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;
  10. Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;
  11. Development of Quality Culture in the institution;
  12. Preparation of the Self Study Report (SSR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  1. Involvement of all stakeholders in design of Curriculum and to evaluate the set quality performance indicators and other necessary bench marks.
  2. Feedback collection, analysis and dissemination of relevant information citing concerns where improvement measures should be taken.
